~ Bead-of-the-Month - 2008...

~ Each month, I will email a special new bead or bead set to all my regular customers, who get a sneak peek at a new creation, and the choice to buy it at a great introductory price.  Once I send out the email, the first person who emails me to tell me they want the bead gets to buy it :)

~ This page will archive all the new beads as I showcase them each month... Enjoy!

Bead of the month #1-08:

This month’s bead is a matching pair of glass turtles - they are both made of ivory coloured glass; one has ivory fins, while the other has turquoise fins.  They both have a turquoise shell design and a hole which runs vertically from head to toe...

Size: 50mm wide x 20mm high

Cost: $38.00 US or Cnd. for the pair

Bead of the month #7-07:

This month’s bead is a matching pair of glass cones - a transparent turquoise base, decorated with swirls and dots of coral glass, accented with clear... These turned out spectacularly, they are exactly the same size (which is really, really hard to do!), and are reversed-opposites of each other in terms of decoration.  The hole on the inside of these beads is tapered (wide at the bottom and narrow at the top) so that they can act as cones on the ends of necklaces, or be filled with dangles to act like tassels...

Size: 17mm wide x 20mm high

Cost: $39.00 US or Cnd.

Bead of the month #6-07:

This month’s bead is a huge sculptural leaf focal pendant bead, much more stylized than my previous leaves, and absolutely stunning! Ivory glass layered with copper and silver foils, and two shades of enamels result in a beautiful organic/antique reaction with the glass.

Size: 30mm wide x 45mm high

Cost: $28.00 US (approx. $30.00 Cnd.)

Bead of the month #5-07:

This month’s bead is a large turquoise round focal, decorated with large sparkling dots, with a magnified flower hidden within each dot surrounding the entire bead. The focal comes with four matching accent beads...

Size: 12mm x 22mm wide; Accents: 6mm x 10mm

Cost: $32.00 US (approx. $34.00 Cnd.)

Bead of the month #4-07:

This month's bead is a gorgeous amethyst cube two-hole button focal bead, surrounded by light peridot spacers.  This bead set is the one I used to create the "Stardust3" necklace featured in Beadwork's Stringing magazine, and you can find the instructions online if you click on the necklace photo below:

Size: 16mm long x 18mm wide, Spacers: 7mm x 9mm

Cost: $35.00 US (approx. $38.00 Cnd.)

Bead of the month #3-07:

This month's bead is a lovely teal turtle, whose back is decorated with raku frit - and it's already made into a pendant and hung from a sterling silver bail...

Size: 25mm long x 26mm wide

Cost: $25.00 US (approx. $29.00 Cnd.)

Bead of the month #2-07:

This month's bead is actually a pair of light peridot drop earrings - these are incredibly difficult to make (not so much in the technical aspect, but in the attempt to make two of the same size), so I am discontinuing them from my jewelry inventory.  They are hung from 12K gold-filled hand-shaped ear-wires. (Aside from one other pair in amethyst, which you can request instead, this is the last pair of this kind...).

Size: 45mm long x 8mm wide

Cost: $38.00 US (approx. $42.00 Cnd.)

Bead of the month #1-07:

This month’s bead is a pair of teal leaves, hand-formed and decorated with a beautiful new glass called Gaia, which has an iridescent sheen which shifts with the movement of the glass.

Focal Size: 20mm x 35mm

Cost: $24.00 US (approx. $28.00 Cnd.)
