~ PERSONAL COLLECTION ~ ~ The beads below will remain in my personal collection for purely sentimental reasons :-)
|
|
"Floral Windows" After attending last years B.C. Gem Show, I had an idea what I wanted to try this year... I made a large floral bead, and then encased and treated the glass on the outside of the entire bead in such as way as to make it look like a rock. Then, at this year's gem show, I asked the expertise of the lapidary demonstrators to help me open two windows in the bead so that the inside would be revealed. Although it looks hours of grinding and polishing, it turned out fantastic for my first try, and I can't wait to make more beads like this... :)

"March of the Penguins" After seeing the wonderful (although sometimes sad) movie about the lives of these amazing creatures, I just had to make a few to see how they would look in glass, so here is a pair just for my studio shelf :)

" Four from the road..."
I created the above four beads while on a day trip to visit the studio of one of my favourite lampworkers, Alexx Cheng. Alexx and his wife lavished great hospitality on all the lampworker visitors, including food and glass, so these beads will remain in my collection as a great souvenir from a fantastic day spent playing at Alexx's torches. |

"Amethyst Floral - Hollow Vessel" ![]() |
My most recent personal creation, I attempted this hollow vessel as a demo/experiment at a lampwork group meeting which I attend monthly at Sunlight Art Glass... It was a real pleasure to make, and I was astonished that it turned out so beautifully for my first try :-) |

|
"Yellow Rose - Sculpture"
I had an idea to lampwork a glass rosebud, and once that turned out so well, I decided that I had to make some glass leaves for it as well, and this little flower sculpture was born :-)

|
"Froggie!"
This was my first attempt at making a frog, following a written tutorial by Corina T. |
"Sculptural Fish"
A recent creation, this fish turned out exceptionally well, and since I might never make another one like it, it means that I get to keep this one :-) |

"First Beads"
These were the very first beads I made - I made them all during my 3-hour lampwork class with a local artisan, Barrie Edwards. So this is a word of encouragement to all new lampworkers - with a bit of time and lots of practice, your beads will improve :-) |
